Quality

Fish is the only remaining mass-produced foodstuff which is still sourced from its own natural habitat.

Fish is a sensitive commodity and demands high levels of care and know-how throughout the whole supply and production process.

The quality of our raw material depends entirely on the expert knowledge of our suppliers. That's why we support them not only by offering technical advice on board the trawlers and in the factories, but also by providing training seminars at our plant in Bremerhaven.

On arriving at our coldstore, random samples are put through rigorous examinations.

For this, we use state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that the fish meets our strict requirements.

This applies also for our ingredients, which are checked just as carefully in our microbiological and chemical labs.

Production is carried out according to globally recognised HACCP principles.

As you would expect in a modern production facility, our workers themselves are responsible for performing the quality checks. The high knowledge levels and quality awareness of all our staff ensures that only products of the highest standard leave our factory.

Our systems are also subject to ongoing external audits.

As early as 1995 we were awarded a certificate according to the ISO norm 9001:1994.

From August 2005 until End of 2020 we were granted IFS certification at a higher level. Early 2021 we changed to the BRC certification successfully.

It goes without saying that Frozen Fish International has also been awarded Chain of Custody certification by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

All our labs meet the demanding requirements of the ISO 17025 standard.
